What are your views on goodwill gestures from companies who are trying to address your complaint and retain your custom?
Have you ever had a goodwill gesture? - What did they offer you? - If you accepted it, why did you? - If you refused it, why did you? Do you think that goodwill gestures are a company's way of showing their appreciation towards their customers, or is it exploitation/corruption/bribery, or trying to avoid a law suit when they know that if they do go to court, the complainant has a good chance of winning? Could it be purely a way to avoid negative publicity and assuming the customer accepts the gesture and doesn't litigate, might even have missed out on a substantial pay out?

I have been trawling through the dark recesses of my mind to try and remember whether I have ever had one and so far the answer is no.
