I had to arrange to have control over my mother's bank account when she was diagnosed with 3 terminal conditions. A woman gave me a form to take with me and fill in,my mum managed to sign it but it was dreadful to even have to ask her.i took the form back some days later along with proof of identity for both me and mum as requested.
Handed iver the form and so on and said..
My mother is terminally illl... etc.
No answer just a frown.
No this is the wrong procedure the client must sign it at the bank.
I explained it again and she said ahe woukd go and talk to the manager. Still no sign if sympathy or understanding. She said she was following procedure.
I waited for ages and then asked the next member if staff to check. I was going crazy with worry I needed to get back to my mother. The ither woman came back and said the manager was on the phone to the legal dept. I said why surely you have a procedure for this. She said yes that's why he's on the phone.
So I said right. Either you sort this out now or I am going to be here yelling until it happens. And what the hell is wrong with you guys for not even faking sympathy. I gave her my fiercest laserbeam look and allowed my voice to get louder till it filled the place.
The other customers just kept looking away.
My problem was solved within a minute.
I hate those ****ers.

That is a bit cold. Humanity isn't always noticed but lack of humanity always is.

From a friend on Twitter: 'we help because we believe where there's help, there's a way' [collapses into muffled laughter waiting in the bank queue]
