So yesterday had a 1.30pm appt at the hospital. The receptionist was so slack like I could tell she really hated her job and people as when I went to report my arrival, she didn't ask my name and told me to wait in the waiting room.
At 2.30 (when I realised that I was bored of staring at the ceiling and the dirty floor) I asked the receptionist, how long the doctor will take - her answer was that he knew I was there and I will be seen soon.
That lonely walk back to my seat with worn out plastic seating, and passing the sign that said 'If you are more than 15mins late for your appointment, you will not be seen", I thought to my self that there are certain situations where you do not have an option (unless you have £££) to be seen elsewhere or to be treated like you matter!
Anyway, I was finally seen at 3.45 by a very tired looking doctor who gave the impression that he wanted to go home and just sleep for a few hours.
Although I strongly believe in free healthcare, the NHS is not an option for most people and because the government know this, the treatment and care for patients can be so shoddy and unbelievable.
No matter how much negative press they get, there is visibly NO IMPROVEMENT!!!
I came to the conclusion that the limited/no option that one has due to no competition, the more companies/organisations can play us like puppets.
I wish that I was in the position to go private, but the costs are way too high. At least, I can have a wish but there are some people out there who are poverty stricken and what I call a wish they would say its impossible.
At least the good news is that my treatment will start in about 4 (FOUR) months time!!!
You gotta love the NHS!!!
